Katyayani Organics
Bio/Organic Insecticide
Katyayani Nema Cure is a bio-nematicide formulated with a high concentration of live Paecilomyces lilacinus spores in powder form. When applied to soil or seeds, it comes into contact with nematode eggs, juveniles, or adult females—weakening and ultimately eliminating them. This eco-friendly solution is safe for humans, animals, and the environment, making it ideal for organic and sustainable farming practices.
Target Pests
Katyayani Nema Cure effectively targets a variety of nematodes, including:
Root-knot nematodes
Cyst nematodes
Reniform nematodes
Citrus nematodes
Stunt nematodes
It also shows efficacy against white grubs and other soil-borne pathogens.
Target Crops
Suitable for use in a wide range of crops, such as:
Maize, sorghum, soybean, chickpea, brinjal, potato, capsicum, tomato, cucumber, ornamental flowers, grapes, and other fruit and vegetable crops.
Mode of Action
Paecilomyces lilacinus works through a biological infection process:
Spore Germination & Hyphal Growth: Spores germinate upon contact with nematode eggs or bodies, forming hyphae that grow toward the target.
Appressoria Formation: Specialized structures form at the hyphal tips to attach securely to the nematode.
Enzyme Secretion: The fungus secretes enzymes that degrade the nematode’s protective layers, allowing entry.
Colonization & Nutrient Absorption: Hyphae penetrate and feed on the nematode, weakening and killing it.
Reproduction: The fungus multiplies inside the nematode, producing spores that spread to infect others.
Dosage & Application
For Domestic Use: 5–10 grams per liter of water
Soil Application: 1–2 kg per acre
Application Method: Apply around the base of plants or incorporate into the soil before planting. It can also be used as a soil drench for better coverage.
Benefits
Best results when used as part of an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy
Preventative application is most effective before nematode populations become damaging
Results may take a few weeks as the fungus naturally colonizes the soil
Safe, organic, and non-toxic—suitable for use around people, pets, and wildlife
